Sony's consumer camera market is growing in the rankings every year for their mirrorless cameras and a huge chunk of that is owed to social apps like Instagram. The problem with being a photographer on Instagram is the saturation of the market; these days everyone is posting beautiful photos to add to their profile and it's easy to get lost and even over-exposure to random photography. There's also a problem of the amateur photographer, with significantly less followers than those with hundreds of thousands who aren't being recognized for potentially great work.
Dreambook's goal is to enhance discovery by curation through staff and users, rather than just seeing the same repetitive photographers. It's goal is to tell a story using less than 140 words and mostly digital media in sequential order, like a book.
Dreambook was approved in 2016 to continue for development but was later abandoned by management.
